Willow & Hermione started out as two little girls and a mum with a whole lot of hair that we needed controlling, originally making elasticated headbands, things have evolved massively since then!

These days at Willow & Hermione you will find feminine headpieces and hair accessories for the fun loving woman who enjoys a bit of colour and sparkle in her life. From handmade flowers to crystal bead and metal work, our pieces are all handmade by founder and designer Katie Turland.

 We love how headpieces and hair accessories can bring an outfit to life, and celebrate the wearer's personality. A subtle twinkle here and there for the already detailed outfit, or a flamboyant sculptural headpiece to give the wow factor to a more subdued outfit.

 We have a selection of pieces available on our website, we can also offer to make the pieces in specific colors or color combinations for you, so please do get in touch if you require something custom made.

 

 

Meet Katie

 

Hi I’m Katie, it was always my dream as a teen to become a milliner, but I actually ended up heading into fashion, studying at The London college of Fashion.

 I was somewhat derailed (as can happen in late teens), I went to art college for three years and then went into womenswear, design + technology.

At the time I thought this was where I really wanted to head, but now I’m in my 40s and a little wiser than my 19-year-old self I realise it was outside influences and trends that sent me in the direction of fashion and listening to all of the noise rather than myself and my desire for exciting headpieces!

 My journey into millinery started in 2017 when I started Willow & Hermione, named after my two, then little girls, now young ladies, I’ve evolved from fabric stretch and wrap headbands to Alice bands in all styles, as well as training in the art of hat making. It's been an amazing journey so far and the absolute joy is creating something that makes the wearer feel amazing.
